One Handed Cooks Magazine: Update

Thank you for your support of our much-loved One Handed Cooks magazines. We have produced 8 amazing magazines, each one showcasing a range of amazing recipes and an abundance of helpful and realistic tips for parents feeding young children.

When we started writing the magazines we never knew how popular they would be. Sometimes they prove hard to find, but we have tried to make them as accessible as possible.

There are three of us involved in these little masterpieces and they take a huge amount of dedication, time and love. We create the recipes, test, style and shoot them and write the very informative articles that have helped so many. We committed to two years of magazines and that time went oh-so-fast. While our publishers would like us to continue we are putting a pause on them, for now. Do you object? Tell us about it in the comments below.

Why would we pause something so wonderful? Well, 2016 is proving to be our most exciting year yet. With time to reflect on our next steps we have committed to new and exciting opportunities that will continue to tickle your tastebuds and encourage happy and healthy little eaters. We promise to keep you updated on our new ventures via our Newsletter, Facebook and Instagram, which by the way will include all new recipes and some refreshingly new and inspiring words.

You probably need to know that all of the remaining magazine back issues are in store now (in all good newsagents) or you can purchase the final copies online. We will soon be launching digital versions of the magazines in October 2015 for those who missed out or for our OS fans.

Here are links to purchase the final available copies:

So utterly guttered to hear that there will be no more ohc magazines! I love them and cook from them all the time. It is the one magazine I really hang out for and allow myself “me” time to sit and enjoy. I cook from it knowing that I am providing my kids with yummy nutritious meals…….so very disappointed.

Oh no! I am so sad to hear you won’t be doing any more issues of your awesome magazine. I look forward to each new release, and have been eagerly waiting on the next spring issue 🙁
I hope you may pick it back up again not that far down the track, or a hard copy recipe book would also be amazing too 🙂 Such great recipes & tips!

So sad to hear this. I found your website/magazine at the same time I introduced solids via BLW to my now 20 month old. I love your recipes and find it so much easier to have paper recipes to follow than on-line. I also enjoy the articles and information you provide. I follow you on FB and Instagram too and will continue to find all your useful tips there. Best of luck with all future projects.

Great work over the last two years! While I can honestly say I haven’t bought a print copy of your magazine, I am super excited for the digital copies! Just suits my life a bit easier as I do most of my meal planning g from my ipad. I love your blog & have tried a lot of your recipes (and told friends too) so am definitely looking forward to what’s to come. Good luck!

Yes! Me too, I mustn’t have a good newsagent near me as I haven’t been able to find the magazines in store, but digital copies sound great! They would be so much more useful to me than actual magazines anyway. 🙂

I am so disappointed to hear that there will not be any more magazines. I was just thinking the other day that I needed to go to the newsagent to get the Spring issue. Incredible magazine and wonderful recipes! I have now ordered the back issues that I was missing. I can’t imagine how you all were doing all of that with just 3 people so I understand why it may need to stop or be on pause. I have recommended you to a lot of friends and my mothers group. Best of luck with the new ventures and I will continue to be a fan of the Facebook page and website!

I have just ordered a few to complete my collection. I tried to buy them all, but a few have gone missing, probably ended up in the recycling pile by mistake.
I do look for a lot of recipes online or on my ipad now. But it will be nice to have a complete collection to refer to as well!.

Very sad to hear there are no more magazines coming as yet. My little one is 2 and ive purchased these since she started solids. I would’ve been lost without the inspiring foods you come up with and found magazines good to flick through when needing inspiration (rather than using website).admittedly getting a copy in newsagents has become more difficult but my local one csn usually order it if there’s none left. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts in coming up with these yummy foods. I will certainly keep following to see what the next venture is.

Fair enough 🙂 I only found one mag in the last 16 months of knowing about you and it proudly sits in my cookbook cupboard! I wanted to get my sister (a new Mum) a subscription for xmas but I didn’t realise it was ending.
I love having recipes in front of me but will continue to use your website! Congratulations on creating such a wonderful resource for parents!!

Oh no I am so sad to hear this news. Can’t tell you how much I love your magazines and how useful I have found each and every issue. I have recommend and bought so many copies for my other Mummy friends who all equally love them as much as I do! I really do love your blog and also follow you on Instagram. I love purchasing the actual magazine and sitting down to enjoy it, supposed to purchasing an online version. All the best for your future endeavours, looking forward to hearing more. All the best.

oh no, what a shame that you are not continuing with the magazine. I brought every copy for my daughter who used the recipes a lot as she has a 2 1/2 yr old. I have also used some of the recipes and we both loved the hints and tips. Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job. Look forward to your next venture.

Just wanted to say thanks guys – my little one is almost 3.5 years, and I have been cooking from your mags since the first one hit the shelves. You’ve given us some of the most delish and nutritious recipes, and they will continue to serve us well for years. Thanks for all the hard work *thumbs up*

Please, please, please bring out the magazine again if you can! It has been my saviour for the last couple of years in finding meals that are tasty for adults as well as my toddler. It’s like my bible and I will really miss it!

I am super disappointed to hear that there isn’t another mag on the way!!!!! I have all 7 mags and go back through them all the time, constantly trying new recipes for my young children. I love the range of new food options and have always found the articles very informative. I have told so many people about this magazine and also directed them to your website.
I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed that there is an issue 8 in the (near) future!!
