I do love me a blat. If I see one on the menu I look no further. So, as I munched on a homemade one the other day and saw Harry eyeing it off, I though ‘why not?’

So here it is. Simple. And the perfect every-now-and-then treat to spice up those boring baby sandwiches.

  • 2 slices of wholemeal bread
  • 1 lean rasher of bacon, fat removed
  • ¼ avocado, mashed
  • ½ tomato, finely diced
  • 1 small handful of lettuce, finely chopped


Step 1

Gently fry the bacon until crisp. Cut or process until it forms a fine crumb -

Step 2

Layer the sandwich, bread, avocado, bacon, tomato, lettuce, bread. Slice into fingers -
