Watermelon Icy Poles

As if these aren’t the cutest most yummiest looking things you have ever seen. They just scream summer and really are as simple as they look.

Tips:

Use food grade wooden paddle pop sticks

Freeze time can vary depending on the size of the wedges

Consider trying other fruits such as grapes, pineapple or orange

Cut various fruits, such as watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and grapes, into bite size pieces, place on skewer and freeze for a cool summer treat.

Nutrition Note:  Watermelon has a very high water content  making them very refreshing and hydrating on those hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • ¼ of whole seedless watermelon
  • Popsicle sticks

Method

Step 1

Slice watermelon into wedges. The size you cut it to will be up to you.

Step 2

Using a knife, make a small hole in the skin of the watermelon to fit the popsicle stick. -

Step 3

Push stick into watermelon skin. -

Step 4

Lay watermelon slices, so they're not touching, in an airtight container and put into the freezer. You can layer with baking paper between slices. -

Step 5

Freeze for 2 hours and enjoy.
