Quinoa, Cauliflower & Leek Puree

It feels forever ago since I cooked up my first batch of quinoa for George to taste. I think it was actually in this simple quinoa cauliflower and leek puree when he first tried it and he just gobbled it up.
Nutrition Note: Quinoa is a great “first food” to introduce to your baby when starting solids. It’s quick to cook (very important when time is poor!) and can be simply stirred through their favourite veggie puree to add texture, boost fibre, protein and add a whole range of valuable nutrients.

- 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
- 1/2 head cauliflower, florets chopped
- 2 tablespoons leek, white part only, finely sliced
- 1/4-1/2 cup water
Method
Step 1
Steam cauliflower and leek together for around 6-8 minutes or until both have softened. -
Step 2
Combine cauliflower and leek together with the cooked quinoa and water. Puree until you have your desired consistency. -
Step 3
Note: You can add the quinoa after you have pureed the cauliflower and leek for more texture. -
