Every day Harry is more and more interested in using his hands to eat his dinner, which isn’t ideal when I am feeding a mashy dish. This one was spur of the moment and turned out really well, Harry literally licked the highchair tray clean. I used an organic brown pasta which was so beautiful, but any old pasta will do.I think this would also work really well with some added onion, chicken or tuna.
Nutrition Note: Green vegetables, including zucchini and peas, are a source of magnesium which is important for growing strong bones.

Ingredients
- 1 tsp unsalted butter
- ¼ cup grated zucchini
- ¼ cup frozen peas
- ¼ cup grated cheese
- 1 cup cooked wholemeal pasta spirals
Method
Step 1
Melt the butter in a small saucepan, add the grated zucchini and sauté for a few minutes. Add the peas and cook until warm. -
Step 2
Add the pasta and stir through the cheese. Once melted remove from heat -
Step 3
Allow to cool just enough so the cheese binds it all together. You can then mash and spoon feed for younger babies or let the older ones feed themselves -

My baby has suddenly decided that she only wants to eat things with her hands. Will give this a go tonight – looks like something she’ll like!

Hi
I’m going to try this today as my little girl loves pasta and I think it will make a nice change from just pasta with cream cheese. Can you make it a day in advance? I was thinking I could send it with her to the childminder for her lunch one day.
Thanks Anne x

Sure you could, Anne. Perhaps wait until reheating to add the cheese? Ax

My 16mo absolutely loved this and used both spoon and fingers to eat it. Win!
